Can't find the snowboot thread...

...and step mother has just mentioned that she would love some for Christmas.

Can anyone help me out, either by linking to the thread or by giving me amazing links to boots which can be worn in or out of the snow (ie they don't look like hiking boots)?

Oh, and if you could just plan christmas, buy all my food shopping and wrap all the presents up, that would be fab Smile

Where do you live - I managed to get some in Danbury in Essex yesterday for DS and I - no luck getting any anywhere else as they all sold out as are the NEXT ones!

I am in Laaaahndan, but stepmother in Lincs where apparently everyone has been snowed in for about six months now.

Perhaps ebay best then?

You could ring alpine room in Danburuy- I rea;;y did search eveywhere - mine are like the next ones with fur round the top and lace up the front - wore them today and got lots of lovely comments - they do do mail order but can;t find them on the website - they have Alaska in a black triangle on the sole - if you don;t find any that is anywhere else.

Tethers, how considerate of your stepmum to mention, three days before Christmas, that she would really like something that is as rare as hen's teeth at the moment. Maybe she'd also like a bag of rock salt to go with her snow boots - there must be loads of that in stock? Xmas Wink

I'll just have to get her the moon on a stick instead.

I've got the Riley from Cara.

They're not bad-looking (I'm horrendously fussy), and are reasonably warm with ski socks and woolly liners inside.

I don't think any of these 'spongy' boots are actually as good as a really good pair of walking boots or even moonboots, but they do look more 'fashionable' for travelling to the ski resort!

Having said that, I saw loads of young girls in mini skirts/shorts and woolly tights today, paired with thick socks and proper walking boots, and I felt a bit of an idiot in my try-hard 'fashion' version.
