Help needed with strange boobs.

I used to wear a 34b bra which has always been sufficient. Lately, though, and with the passage of time, my boobs have become rather droopy and I can no longer find a bra to fit. I've tried every 34 going, and currently in a 36b, which seems unable to conatain me either. The odd thing is that my boobs are actually quite small. The problem I have is finding a bra that will support me without folding over at the bottom. Help please!!

OK I can't picture what you mean re 'folding over at the bottom' but suspect you might need a smaller back size and a larger cup size. I am not an expert but I can highly recommend a proper fitting, I am willing to bet you come out a completely different size to what you think! I have been fitted at HoF which I found good, but I believe Rigby and Peller are the best boob judgers out there if you are near to one!

Good question re dress size. I am a 12 and wearing a 32 back.

You do probably need a smaller back and bigger cup, the support should come from the band rather than the shoulder straps. That's probably why you're getting the creasing. What are your measurements?

TBH you should be wary of bra fitters (M&S are notoriously incorrect). A good fitter probably wont measure you at all. It's much, much better to learn how to fit yourself properly, it's really not difficult.

Bravissimo are meant to be great at fitting correctly if you are near a branch

The best advice I ever had was 'down a back size, up a cup size'. My boobs are different animals now

Really you should measure yourself first to know if you are being fitted properly.

The actual measurement under your bust is the band size.
The difference between the band measurement is the cup size: 1 inch = 1 cup size.

So, an under the bust measurement of 36 and a fullest part of the bust measurement of 38 would make you a 36B. BUT, a 34C or a 38A could fit better depending on style and brand. The same sized underwire is used in all 3 sizes.

Bravissimo give good advice about diagnising exactly what is wrong with the fit of a bra.

Most bra fitters really do need keeping an eye on. Many still add 4 to the under bust measurement . In my long and varied experience of fitting my own strange and ever changing boobs I've only met a few worth their salt. Very handy to have on though, if only to fetch and carry and suggest models.

M&S sizes are very strange. I was a 36c but have lost a bit of weight, 36b far too tight allover,34 d very tight - strangely the cups seemed too small, 36c still the best fit but not quite snug enough, I just gave up and will have to try somewhere with better fitters.

Get a Freya bra, thye give good support and have some reasonably nice styles.

I totally agree that it sounds like you are wearing too big a band size - I was really shocked when I went for my first proper bra fitting, I was probably wearing a 36D, but I was actually 32F... now all these years later, after 14 months x 2 bf (2 children later that is) I am down at least a band size and up a cup size - so between a 28G and 30FF depending on the bra.

I am not any slimmer, probably heavier by a stone than I was pre-children, someone who really knows what they are doing will fit you properly, independent lingerie shops are good, a small one, where the assistant has been there forever.

If you cant get to a store for a fitting,try phoning Bravissimo who will give you instructions over the phone.
Have you tried the moulded t-shirt bras? I find they give excellent support and shape.
