Ugg bags - cute or ridiculous?

I'm not usually an 'Ugg' person, but I do love the look of some of their sheepskin-trimmed bags.
I thought of getting this or this, but would they really be practical? They're not going to be very waterproof - there's no flap at the top. And do I really need a bag lined in sheepskin? Its not like the contents of my bag need to be kept warm Hmm. I'm not sure there is a point to them, TBH.
But I do love the look of them Blush

Shock at the cost of them. I'm not an Ugg person either but they look nice enough. I love bags though and don't think there really needs to be a point. Go for it.

someone at work brought some in, similar to the first one. Felt lovely inside but no, not practical at all and a bit naff imo. They were only £30 though!

madammecholet · 19/12/2010 17:15

sorry, don't like them. :(

ValiumShimmer · 19/12/2010 17:17

I quite like the first one, but a bag doesn't keep you warm so I don't see the point. For £250 there are some GORGEOUS bags out there.

And I agree with Berk, I'm sure I've seen something really similar for a tenth the price.

Adore them, especially the shoulder bag. Have you seen in the flesh? I bet they're super soft. Grin at the idea of the contents of your bag needing to be cosy.

EasterEggHuntIsOver · 19/12/2010 17:44

The shoulder bags are only £114 on mandmdirect at the moment with a 10% off voucher code. Choice of brown, black and chestnut. Think I may treat myself to an Ugg bag after all. :)

Looking at all the Ugg stuff on the M and M site, it's so heavily discounted I'm wondering if it's fake?

They're ok, but £250 seems a lot to pay for a style that's quite wintry. Probably a bit like Ugg boots-look the part but not really practical!! Point to note maybe-when I had a similar suede-type bag (admittedly years ago) the dye came off on my clothes and the suede bobbled whatever I was wearing.
