Hair Dye recommendations please!

My hair is a medium reddish brown, lighter towards the roots, darker towards the ends. I have put two semi permanent colours on in last 2 mths, which has made some of my hair look really dark. I just want a nice rich mahogany colour.

The colour i wanted was the same as as cheryl coles in the loreal ad for the casting dye in mahogany, but when i applied that, my hair went really dark at the ends!

Trying to avoid a trip to the hairdressers, can i try another hair dye to achieve the colour i want, bearing in mind, my roots are lighter and redder than the rest of my hair?

when you put the dye on it reactivated the last colour you put in your hair, thats why the ends went dark. Don't put anything else on your hair where you have to mix two bottles of stuff together, just use a watere based semi, 8 washes and at the moment you will have to match that to the ends then wait for the colour to fade. then you have to use the colour you want on the roots only and use a semi again on the ends.
