Can I wear black linen trousers and open toe shoes in winter?

I'm out tomorrow and can't afford to get a new outfit so have dredged the back of my wardrobe. Unfortunately, the only thing that I've got which is relatively new (and fits Blush) is a pair of black linen trousers. I have a few different tops which would look ok.

I'm not worried about the cold (getting a lift which will drop me off right outside the door) but will I look like an idiot wearing linen trousers in the depth of winter?

I wore some yesterday for similar reasons (couldn't find much else that fit and was clean and new-ish!) I did feel slightly odd wearing them in December as I bought them as light summer trousers, but didn't get any comments or 'looks', and most likely no one thought anything of it.

They'll probably be fine, as long as you're not wearing them with sandals and a summery top no one will think you've forgotton what season it is :)
