Please tell me it'll be ok? Has anyone tried it? Currently sat with my head covered in foam. It just feels very strange and unlike any dye I've used before. Did a search but can't see any related threads

How did it come out? Am tempted to try this myself... lucky you, you can be my guinea-pig Xmas Wink

mamas12 · 16/12/2010 20:33

I tried it it, the technique was good but I cose a colour that is far too dark for me.

PurpleMiffy · 16/12/2010 20:37

errrm well it should have been washed off half an hour ago. I will go wash now and then report. I have gone for this colour

I've got one sitting in the bathroom.

Dark golden blonde. I am currently a mid blonde.
I thought a bit of gold would warm me up for the winter.

I am too afraid to use it.

I await reports of results with interest.

PurpleMiffy · 16/12/2010 21:59

Sorry had to make a phone call. WELL I BLOODY LOVE IT. Easiest hair dye I have ever done. Colour is all even and shiny. It was so easy to apply. No mess left anywhere on my face/head. I will def be switching brands. Those that have it, go for it! Just need to wait for my babyliss to turn up. Watch out for me swishing.

Right, I'll do mine tomorrow.

Thanks for the review PurpleMiffy.

dottyaboutstripes · 16/12/2010 22:25

I used it and it was simple as anything BUT the colour came out much darker than it should've done so I wasn't happy...

stillavirgin · 16/12/2010 22:27

i lurve it. the best dye EVER! my natural colour is red and I dye it dark brown, this is the only colour that hasnt gone dark red with a hint of brown

missmartha · 16/12/2010 22:36

See now that's what I'm worried about dotty.

I'm naturally blonde and the picture on the box of the dark gold blonde is as dark as I want to go.

It's not all that dark though. God, I'm not sure now.

applecrumbleandcream · 17/12/2010 12:19

Purple, what colour was your hair to start with and how red has the colour come up?

Interested as I have also bought that colour and will be putting it on tonight when I get home from work (and dd in bed), my hair is darkish brown at the mo so hope it turns out OK.

PurpleMiffy · 17/12/2010 12:39

My hair was purple to start with! Cyber purple. My hair is now a dark brown with a hint of red. It looks very natural and healthy. I love it.

Does the foam change colour once on your head? I'm trying to work out if I can use it at home without staining new tiles

missmartha · 17/12/2010 13:07

I used it today as I am working from home...ahem.

I was seriously worried it would e too dark for me, but it was dead easy to use and the colour is as I hoped it would be.

No splashes, no dripping, no staining anything in fact.

This is a fabby product, I'll use this again.

paarrp, as with any dye, I'd be careful, but this is the least splashy stuff I've ever used, so I think your tiles will be safe

PurpleMiffy · 17/12/2010 13:11

I agree with missm. Just be careful where the foam lands. It was def less messy than any others. My husband usually does my hair as I create chaos. This was so easy to do on my own.

Purple, sounds just what I'm after (dark brown with a hint of red) - can't wait to try it later tonight.

pipplin · 17/12/2010 17:09

Right I'll be giving that a go then.

MrsMeow · 17/12/2010 17:11

Oooh I almost bought this earlier, I was thinking how easy it looked to use! I'll give it a go when I'm next due to dye my hair :)

paarrp · 18/12/2010 12:14

Hmm - I'm undecided - I normally don't make too much mess putting it on - it's just the washing off which I used to do with the shower hose and it used to splash everywhere when it was rinsing out.

smilesandsun · 22/12/2010 06:59

just wanted to say thanks. I gave this a go after reading here. I have to say the easiest hair dye ever and great results!!Smile

applecrumbleandcream · 22/12/2010 14:21

I used my foam colour last Friday night. It's a nice colour (though slightly darker than I wanted to go) and really pleased that there was less mess, but I'm afraid I'm not very impressed with the coverage. Still have grey roots at the sides and underneath at the back despite really massaging it in those areas. I think I will be going back to Garnier Nutrisse next time.

ginfizz · 24/12/2010 02:09

I have tried it too. Good even coverage, easy to apply - but came out a lot darker than I expected from the packet. Light brown is actually very dark! And has lasted really well too! Which is usually a good thing, but I need this lightening up now as it's not quite the shade for me. Not sure whether to try a lighter shade of this brand or try something else.

applecrumbleandcream · 28/12/2010 15:55

Update on foam colour - the red has all gone from hair but still quite dark (esp fringe) but hair gone really dry!

Loads of grey reappeared now after just a week and a half so definitely not for me in future.
