What do you think of this coat?

I need something bum covering and not too expensive to wear at the weekend (I have a more serious coat for work). If I had to describe my style I'd say it's feminine chic. This is the kind of thing I'm looking for, but I dunno about the ruffles. Any thoughts? It looks better in real life I think -- this pic gives it a slightly shapeless quality.

Vila coat

it's nice. ruffles are fine- not too much if you're going for feminine chic.

Sanesometimes1 · 13/12/2010 23:55

agree with blinks.

Thanks. I am a ditherer Grin.

I like it. The double buttons balance the ruffles with a sort of military vibe. Ditto the epaulettes and nice tailored shape to the shoulders and high collar.

FrancesFarmer · 14/12/2010 00:30

I think the ruffles are fine - they are quite subtle and add interest to what could otherwise be a rather boring coat. Go for it!

Thanks for the detailed and favourable analyses! I'm going to go for it.

I have it. It's lush actually. Very nice long sleeves Grin.

I'm very Xmas Envy. It looks warm too.

FellatioNelson · 14/12/2010 16:58

I would prefer it without the ruffles myself, but they are not a deal-breaker. It's nice.

WintervalPansy · 14/12/2010 17:16

Exactly my thoughts, Fellatio. My DP will hate the ruffles, but that's too bad.

PS Whenever I see your (fabulous) name I think of French politician Rachida Dati's slip up between 'inflation' and 'fellation'. You are probably familiar with it, being an expert and all, but if not: Fellation.

No, I haven't seen it before - how funny! It's up there with James Naughtie's Cunt!

Not sure I'm a Fellatio expert BTW - at least my husband would probably suggest I could always use more practice. Wink

I like it apart from the ruffles. Maybe you can carry them off. I would feel like a plonker with ruffles.
