think the Third Reich annexing Poland and you have the idea of the relentless creep down my legs of my bikini line.

has anyone got any amazing tips or products they would recommend please?

My big problem is regrowth with terrible ingrowing hairs and rash. (Sorry TMI).

Shaving obv a big no-no.
Used to use Veet, now get bad regrowth and rash.
Waxing worked but last time I was left with the rash and ingrowing hairs again. Can't work out which is the worst look - too much hair or massive angry red spots and patches.

Heeeellllp!

Hot waxing followed by 'Tend Skin' every few days - stops ingrown hairs and redness - and I am v v prone to them.

ShiningWit · 13/12/2010 20:28

but I usually have hot waxing, which always used to work, but last time the rash was appalling. is the Tend Skin a complete miracle then?

(Au Reservoir!)

Yes, I believe it is.

I have had all manner of ingrowns on legs, bikini and underarms. Rashes, bumps and dirty great boils that require excavation with a needle. (Then that satisfying inch long curled up hair comes out!!)

Tend Skin seems to eliminate then all, plus the odd bit of exfoliation.

Buy a Wilkinsons Quattro razor that has a mini trimmer on the other end. Its battery operated and waterproof as is sooooo much easier than anything else I have faffed about with. No more ingrown hairs for me. It may not leave you silky smooth but it looks great IMO.

M&L - boak and snap!

Seabrooks, thanks, is that really ok for people like me who get extraordinarily bad in-growers, bumps and rash? Would prefer this option as hate the faff of waxing (got told off last time for leaving it too long... that was 4 months ago!)

I too was like you before discovering the new way!!! Grin Now I have no bumps, rashes or ingrown hairs... It's a miracle ha ha!

I've found an epilator is the most effective thing. Shaving leaves me with teenage acne round every hair follicle, and I can't be arsed to wax. I help the regrowth break through the skin by exfoliating - no ingrown hairs for me.

Laser hair removal - painful and expensive - but no regrowth and I never have to worry about it again.

gailforce1 · 13/12/2010 21:41

Second laser hair removal. Maybe expensive but think of all the money you will save on waxing and creams!
If you do decide to try make sure you go to a reputable clinic - not just a beauty salon who are unregulated.

writhe · 13/12/2010 21:51

Regarding laser hair removal, exactly how painful and how expensive? How many appointments did it take?

Also, what's the difference between laser hair removal and electrolysis? Which is more painful?

odetothewestwing · 14/12/2010 07:25

Does anyone know how to go about finding a good laser hair removal clinic? Is the industry regulated? I would be interested if I knew I could find someone reputable to do it. And - does it definitely work?

escapewithbeauty · 14/12/2010 12:11

Laser for the Bikini line can range between £200 - £750 for 6 sessions, this is general the amount recommended but can be up to 12. The harley medical group is great, i'm afraid I don't know their number but it'll be on the internet. There is a place in westfield with a terrible reputation, so please avoid that.

Bishoplyn · 14/12/2010 12:48

This is where I go. They are great compared to more local places I've tried.

I pay £98 for 20 minutes. I went initially for hair removal on my face. I probably had about 12 sessions on my face. I used any time remaining within the 20 mins for bikini line, underarms, feet etc.

I had about 4 sessions on my bikini line and there is practically no hair there now at all. It has made a huge differnece on my face but I still go for a top up there about every 3 months. I'll always need that because I've got PCOS Xmas Sad
