The black one - but there is something about them I'm not quite sure of.

beachfeet · 13/12/2010 15:24

Thanks .... yes I know what you mean. My friend said they look too ABBA era, but then again she's very set in her ways when it comes to clothes. I need fresh views !!

Think it is because I have memories of the two I had when I was about 18 - one with denim wings on the shoulders and one in black and pink satin that made me look like a clown!

madammecholet · 13/12/2010 19:43

It's not about age, its about whether you can pull it off and feel confident in it.

I prefer grey one, more contemporary, black one looks odd somehow, trousers are 3inches too short - I hate flappy ankles unless they pool on the floor..

ricketyrock · 13/12/2010 19:53

I dont think age matters as much as figure and confidence. Sounds like you are feeling confident and so should go for it.

given that it is your first foray into jumpsuits maybe you could go for something like this
www.asos.com/Warehouse/Warehouse-Ruffle-Shoulder-Jumpsuit/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=1334933&SearchQuery=jumpsuit&sh=0&pge=0&pgesize=20&sort=-1&clr=LightGrey

which is higher on the waist and more flattering

ricketyrock · 13/12/2010 19:54

madam that was a x post I promise!

FaffTastic · 13/12/2010 20:11

Really really don't like the one-sleeve on the black one plus it looks like an odd fight. One-shoulder dresses are fine but doesn't work on that jumpsuit in my opinion.

Think the grey one is much more modern looking.

FellatioNelson · 13/12/2010 20:15

If you absolutely must wear one, Grinthen go for the silver. The black one looks cheap, and a bit peculiar. (like the worst of Next) I quite like the silver one, providing you are 100% sure you can pull it off.

fin42 · 13/12/2010 20:29

I think that they are nice but always remember when I was 17 going to the toilet and having to sit with my whole outfit around my ankles, didn't much like it then, can't imagine it now I'm 45!Grin
Or perhaps they've made some innovations since then to avoid this.

beachfeet · 13/12/2010 22:09

Thanks all, I like the idea of a jumpsuit bacause of the loose, not too structured look. I really need a change from my usual going out clothes, but totally agree about the higher waisted ones could look better. I think I could just about pull it off,I've finally lost inches of my waist and toned up the old arms. My thighs are too bulky and will always remain loosely covered.Grin

I think the sliver one is more modern looking and easy to wear. I'm not sure the picture does the black one justice. I did see a '30ish women' wearing it, or something very similar with expensive looking accessories

I'm so undecided ...

if possible go and try some on - and wear with heels

you can do it!

I love a jumpsuit

madammecholet · 14/12/2010 10:59

Order it, try it..

beachfeet · 14/12/2010 18:42

Well I took the plunge and got my first jumpsuit !!!. I tried a few different styles statin/silky ones great on someone younger - trouser bit were too clingy and thought it made my legs look short.
I got the black one in the end, its actually quite flattering. Loose in the right places, long in the leg, thickish fabric and very simple and makes waste look smaller !! thought it was a bargin, so its no big deal if don't wear it after winter. I tried it on with some nice high shoes and accessories and that's me sorted out for Friday. :)

Thanks all
