I have a party saturday with all my friends, work people and others but I just want to to go looking good, sexy but kinda relaxed you know? I dont want some dress from karen millen and high sandal and anything diamonte because thats just not me.

My day style is gorgeous dresses, leggings, tights over knee socks, lace up boots etc so I want a night time, equivilent, if that makes sense?

I dont mind if you cant find sending specific links, just recommend me more of a 'look' and I can go shopping knowing what to get.

I am size 8. blonde, 30.

Thanks!

You're a size 8, blonde and 30!!

What are you even worrying about? You'll look gorgeous in anything!

Jewelsandgems · 12/12/2010 22:42

What's your budget?

animula · 12/12/2010 23:05

High shoe boots/lace-up boots, tight black jeans/trousers, tuxedo-style jacket, hair in an up-do, and slightly "rock" T-shirt? That's a slightly old "look" - I think what's his name that went out with Kate Moss years ago did it (and kind of killed it), with a "Tom of Finland" T-shirt.

Or could you do something similar to Debbie Harry's outfit in the "Heart of Glass" video? No idea if there are any jersey bat-wing dresses around at the moment, but the combination jersey/70s and slightly punk looks sexy but dressed-down, maybe?

animula · 12/12/2010 23:14

Darn, wrong Blondie track/video. "Touched by your presence dear".

I frankly covet the dress/boots outfit, and am hoping that this year will be the year I find something similar on the high street.

Wouldn't one of your day-time dresses, with the ubiquitous brogues work?

Jewelsandgems · 12/12/2010 23:16

tethers budget is about £100 (but I like this dress and can stretch to that)

animula I like the first suggestion but Id prob wear a blouse (something sheer maybe) instead of a t shirt :)

How about the dressy chiffony dress with chunky knit cardi belted loosely and ankle boots look

brimfull · 12/12/2010 23:27

pussy bow blouse,shorts,tights and brogues?

brimfull · 12/12/2010 23:42

chiffon/sticky out tutu style skirt with t-shirt and ankle boots or brogues

madammecholet · 13/12/2010 08:01

I'd stay classic, Shoe boots or heels or ballerinas/blue skinny jeans/Tshirt or white shirt, tailored blazer, silk scarf tied at neck or long necklace, nice bag...

Jewelsandgems · 13/12/2010 10:15

ggirl I like all of those actually! Especially the chiffon dress and the tutu style skirt :)
