Can make my mind up whether I like this shop or not, any takers?

Agree about the ultra small sizing in Mango. As for Topshop....I love it at the moment. Whoops I'd better take another look in the mirror, maybe I am mutton dressed as lamb!

teeavee · 27/09/2005 14:06

i'm just jealous cos there're notop shops in france!

Fimbo - I thought this thread might be yours. Been to Chapelfield by any chance?
(I've been 3 times already - I've never been into Norwich this often!).
I bought ds a bodywarmer for £15 there today. IMHO it was nicer than Hennes.
Have a lovely skirt from there but the shirts are a little too short in the body. Very worth the money if you're in Europe as the euro price is much cheaper than the pound price here (we get charged extra for being fashion suckers!)

A friend once told me that Zara is a "cheap" shop in Spain and is hideously overpriced in the UK.

blueteddy · 27/09/2005 18:17

I have bought some of the kids clothes from there, but only in the sale!
The mens stuff is ok, but never see anything for myself in there.

I like them but the tops are tiny. Some things I've bought I've worn to death, others are relegated to the "never to be seen again" bin. Am really liking Monsoon at the moment which has some nice stuff in.

katierocket · 27/09/2005 21:51

It's not that cheap in Spain and they have better stuff than the UK shops.

lucy5 · 27/09/2005 21:55

Zaras home furnishings are lovely. I want to spit on the window of Mango every time I walk past.

Zara was the ONLY shop in the whole of Spain where I could get trousers long enough (and even then they were too short) to fit me in the 3 years I lived there. I am a giant. I go in to Zara sporadically and sometimes hate the stuff and sometimes love it. It changes every week so that's probably why. At the moment I love it and have just spent £60 on lovely polo necks and wonderful short sleevless jackety thing which I can't take off, it's so fab. Mango is rubbish. In Spain it was wonderful and very upmarket (this was the early 90s) but I have never bought a thing there since it came to England that lasted longer than the first few wears and washes. Things go pilly and shapeless and are sent to the jumble. Haven't set foot inside a MNG for well over a year. MNG for minging. IMO of course.

Ha, Cupcakes you know me only too well. I have only been to Chapelfield once though - so not quite as bad as you - yet!! . My friend won £500 of vouchers for House of Fraser on Radio Broadland - she is actually struggling to spend them - cheapest childrens t-shirt is £35!! She's going to have her make-up done and buy all the products oh and a kettle.........

All the stuff in Zara is too long for me - I'm 5ft., 3in.

mummytosteven · 28/09/2005 09:38

much better than it used to be! it used to be all clingy t-shirts/tops and white suits! much nicer now it's gone in for the Sienna/gypsy skirt/boho thing in a big way. the girl's clothes are divine, and the toddler boys clothes not bad at all but a touch pricey
