...an outfit for a 40s/50s themed night out. Its in just over a week, the invite says to think classic pin-up/glamour girls. Its out around pubs and clubs, not a party, so needs to be suitable for that, and hopefully something I can wear again! Budget is as cheap as humanely possible.

Problem is, I'm a classic pear shape, smallish boobs, big bum and hips. Corsets somehow do nothing for my boobs unfortunately. So quite a lot of the styles seem to be ruled out! I generally wear short dresses which nip in at the waist, as thats quite tiny luckily! Im pale complexioned, blonde hair in a bob, 25...don't know if any of this helps.

Anyone have any ideas?

Search 'High waist pencil skirt' on Ebay, plus 'ankle strap shoes' and capsleeved blouse.

Do you have any vintage shops near where you live?

They are normally quite good for those sort of outfits and the shop assistant would be able to guide you as to what suited your shape.

If you have any decent shops nearby get a circle skirt, very flattering and figure balancing.

If you're any good with a needle, they are very easy to make (google) and all you need to do is find some nice fabric

Emo/goth type teenage shops are good for that sort of thing too.
