Where can I get a nice, not too expensive one?

The only one I've seen is this which I do like but would like a few more options before I decide.

I have something very similiar and it is great!

Try Wallis or M&S

What about this it's on sale too and thought about buying one myself. I bought a maternity one from Isabelle Oliver ages ago which is similar and it was very comfy and flattering.

tethersjinglebellend · 10/12/2010 12:55

Do not get the DP one. I got it and it's awful, really bad quality, shiny cheap fabric. The elastic waistband is too thin so gets squashed when you sit down and stays like it, and the hem fell down after two washes.

I have the asda one too- tis very good, but not very high on the waist.

I look forward to the responses...

nappyaddict · 10/12/2010 15:54

How far up the waist does it go? I want it at least above belly button level really.

I have an Isabella Oliver one, the "Marilyn", I believe. I got it at a good reduction in price, so if there is an IO one you fancy, watch their sale. It looks very tight and fitted and my DH said, "How impractical!" when he saw it. However the material is so stretchy I can do high kicks in it. So I would say that stretch is a key point when it comes to making such skirts comfy and wearable. The waistband is very high by the way.

I have a Boden velvet pencil skirt in which I have lived this winter. It has wonderful stretch but a lower waistband. It is currently unavailable but there is a good reduction in the sale should any returns or mysterious new stock come in.

nappyaddict · 11/12/2010 17:44

emloyment Does the IO one have a slit?

I've just given one to the charity shop because it was too big for me - this very afternoon!

Is there nothing in M&S? They sometimes have good ones. Or Warehouse?

Like the sound of the stretchy IO one.

tethersjinglebellend · 11/12/2010 18:06

nappy, I'm a 16- which is a shame, because the Warehouse one monadami linked to is perfect Sad It's out of stock everywhere it seems.

employment, how thick is the fabric on the IO one?

nappyaddict · 11/12/2010 18:15

tethers The Ben Sherman one is available ina 14-16 if that's any good?

Sorry nappy, forgot to say- that one's a bit short for me. Prefer just below the knee. Thanks tho. Are you going to get it?

nappyaddict · 11/12/2010 20:37

No, they haven't got it in my size :(

I've got 2 high waited pencil skirts that I wear to work. One just above the knee one from M&S and another, just below the knee, from Next. Have you checked out their webites?

tethersjinglebellend · 12/12/2010 09:43

Oooh, nappy, have just found this on ebay. Think I might order and give it a try...
