Which magazine for my 60ish MIL?

I want to get my MIL a magazine subscription for Christmas but not sure what to get. I think I've see her reading She and Red in the past. She is quite youthful, interested in fashion and beauty and shops a fair bit... (mostly in John Lewis!). Does anyone know which age-group these mags are aimed at? Thanks.

I think Red and She are aimed more at 30s-40s. My mum is in her 60s and likes Woman and Home. I have read it a few times too and it seems quite good.

Try Vogue. You really can't go wrong.

Of course there is no celeb goss., but if she doesn't care for it it's certainly the one I'd choose.

Defo Woman and Home. My MIL gets it and likes it. She's young-minded and mid Fifties.

I don't mind admitting that I've had a wee gander and it's readable although definitely pitched older than me.

Both my mum plus mil have enjoyed the Woman & Home sub we got them last year - and my mum has resuscribed. I quite like it too! Or what about an interiors mag?

My Mum is 66 and I'm getting her Red. She loves it. It was her that got me reading it.

Ripvan- god that post from you makes me feel old- I am mid 50s and being young minded is not a phrase I would dream of using about myself- I consider myself 40s in my head! 55 is not old these days at all. My DD is just out of uni and I am just stopping being a full time mum in my head!

My MIL is mid fifties but often like similar things to me (mid thirties). I guess I worded things a bit clumsily. She definitely thinks like yourself. Young minded did sound fairly poor. However, my own mum is early sixties but she seems older, if that makes sense.

Defo did not mean to make you feel old.

Purplepeony, I will never see 50 again either and 'young minded' strikes me as an odd turn of phrase too.

I suggested Vogue as I take it myself an cannot imagine not doing so.

I don't stay at home all day baking and cultivating apple cheeks.

Vogue has nothing in it but advets i always think. I like Red and subscribe to and Easy Living Elle decoration, Homes and Gardens which i hate, Country Homes and interiors and my favourite Living etc I sometimes buy Country Living

I'm 59 and would cry if my DDs bought me woman and home. I like Elle and Marie Claire. I must admit I read Heat at the hairdressers.

She used to read Woman and Home, but ditched her subscription about 10 years ago because it had got too old.
