What boots with narrow leg jeans?

Hi, I want some black straight cut jeans (I am too fat for skinny ones!) to wear for a party with a nice top. No idea what kind of boots - would sort of like ankle boots with a heel, would that look okay? I am fancying something a bit trendier than my normal flat biker boot types but not too strappy or madly high. Thanks!

Sure that would look okay - but perhaps pointy/stiletto ones to make a statement? Sure you're not too fat for skinny ones incidentally!!
