What is the best Chanel nail colour?

I promised myself some Chanel nail varnish for growing my nails and went in today to get some Rouge Noir, which I've always wanted. But I got sidetracked by the more sensible Inattendu (a pinkish beige which I thought would be better on my short nails) and now I'm wearing it I don't like it. So what is the best Chanel nail colour?

I seem to be in the minority, but I found Chanel nail varnish (RN) really thin and streaky - did I just get a bad bottle?

jonicomelately · 08/12/2010 11:18

Deffo RN. It's classic.

I love Vendetta - dark purple...Xmas Smile

Lotus Rouge - a look-at-me red which manages at the same time to be classy.

Rn is lovely, I also like Lotus Rouge.

For fingernails I like Ballerina (very pale pink).

lorelilee - I know what you mean about Chanel being thin and streaky - its weird because I love it in the main, but have found that some of the colours do seem to be thin and streaky. RN has never been like this but others have. I also find that it doesn't last as long as I would expect it to without it chipping.

I recently bought Chanel nail varnish in Paradoxal because I quite liked the colour in the bottle. When I tried it I found the nail varnish streaky and a terrible colour on me (a purply metallicy beige).

I paid £16 for it but it was definitely a case of paying for the brand. I'll be going back to Revlon nail varnishes next time.

Diabolic (No427)

Thanks for all the answers. I am a nail varnish virgin, so if not Chanel, then who?

revlon better

winnybella · 09/12/2010 08:53

I have Rouge Noir and Ballerina.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 09/12/2010 08:58

I have Rouge Noir for my toes and Ballerina for my fingernails.

There seems to be a bit of a theme developing here!

I love it, it doesn't chip or wear off in 2 days like most others I have tried. Lovely.

funnily enough - given they are supposedly produced in the same factory - I find Bourjois varnishes brilliant - great consistency and true to colour.
