I want to buy dh work shoes as a surprise - opinions on these, please.

Ok, ignoring the fact that this is the world's most boring surprise ever, the story is:

I'm ordering myself some boots from this site, and thought I might as well add a pair of work shoes for dh as he needs new ones and hate buying it. I usually have to nag him into it anyway, and then help choose (he does have his good points, honestly!).

Anyway, I like these. It would be worn with jeans and a work shirt for casual days at work. Opinions? Please feel free to say if you think stupid idea, especially as it won't be easily returnable.

I take it he works indoors? The shoes have leather soles.

My DH is so finicky about shoes (the fit, the look, the material) that I'd never have the courage to buy anything like that for him.

Maybe you'll just get a 2nd pair of boots for yourself :D

I like them, but then i have a 'thing' for men in brown shoes, would never have to think very carefully about going on a second date with DH if he wasn't wearing brown shoes .

Hmm. Shoes are tricky. Personally I would never buy shoes for myself or anyone else without trying them on first. For example, I take a size 6, but not all size 6 shoes fit well or are comfortable.

Thanks for your advice. Yes, you're probably right - a bit risky without him here, so I left his. I ordered mine ( these ) anyway just because they're about a third of the price of similar ones I could fine here, so fingers crossed they'll fit!

Oh, and sorry DonaAna - yes, he works indoors, so usually wear leather soles shoes.
