Blistex

ZacharyQuack · 08/12/2010 00:59

Trilogy lip balm. Has rosehip oil, which is very good for dry chapped lips.

nappyaddict · 09/12/2010 09:14

I have tried all of the following to no avail.

Vaseline
Lipsalve
Lypsyl
Chapstick
Blisteze (now Blistex relief cream)
Carmex
Burt's Bees
Bottom Butter
Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream

Are any of the following better?

Blistex
Nivea
Body Shop
Lush
Germolene
Palmer's

Warning - I bought the Eight Hour stick for the kids and I but picked up the tinted plum version, obviously can't use on them and I look like a goth on the school run with pasty face and plum lips! Blush

Pre-DCs when I had disposable income I loved Eve Lom's Kiss Mix from [http://www.spacenk.co.uk/product/153990009+kiss+mix.do?search=basic&keyword=eve+lom&sortby=bestSellers&page=all Space NK].

teej · 09/12/2010 11:27

Pre-DCs when I had disposable income I loved Eve Lom's Kiss Mix from SpaceNK linky

I and my almost-3-year-old daughter second Badger Balm. Love the product, love the packaging. DD reapplies it herself.

nappyaddict · 09/12/2010 19:19

Where can you buy Badger Balm from?

thothefrostwascruelladepoppins · 09/12/2010 19:29

lol at "Bottom Balm", nappyaddict, but Xmas Shock at Germolene - I remember it from my youth and it was nippy on cuts etc, I don't think I would put it near my lips!

I had Dr Hauschka Lip Care stick last year and it was good. About a tenner.

I have Nivea at the moment and it's also good, but a bit prone to mushing more product onto the lips than intended.

Fresh sugar lip treatment works for me.

JJ · 09/12/2010 19:33

You can also check our Makeup Alley for reviews. Be prepared to spend hours on the site.. it's addicting.

TitianTinselTemptress · 09/12/2010 19:38

Carmex far and away the best (from a lip balm junkie) and you can get a cherry one in Boots she might like :)

TitianTinselTemptress · 09/12/2010 19:39

Linky here - it's cheap too!

MiasMARY · 09/12/2010 19:44

Tesco medicated one. 70p or something.

I don't think I could bring myself to spend £20 on a lip balm Xmas Shock

jetgirl · 09/12/2010 19:50

I use nivea creme, not the stick. The little blue pot will fit in her book bag. I have one in every handbag!
Lush ultra balm is ok, but I prefer nivea and it's cheap!

sethstarkaddersmum · 09/12/2010 19:52

Lansinoh

DonaAna · 09/12/2010 19:53

Badger Balm's site is here, I ordered mine online. It's organic, and in the US, most Whole Foods markets carry it. Kids love the packaging, and one tin lasts forever.

DonaAna · 09/12/2010 20:05

The UK distributor of Bagder products says that Badger Balms are available at Sainsbury's, Boots, John Lewis, and Waitrose. They look like this. My DD uses the Healing Balm on her lips.

nappyaddict · 09/12/2010 20:10

Badger Balm 3 for 2 in Boots

mummydarlingsausage · 09/12/2010 21:38

Molton brown vitamin lip saver and lansinoh

sethstarkaddersmum · 09/12/2010 22:39

do Lansinoh actually make a lip balm or is everyone else who mentioned it using pure lanolin nipple cream, like me?

mummydarlingsausage · 10/12/2010 10:22

i have been using my left over nipple cream - am using it on the dc's lips morning and night as they were getting really sore and they are looking great now! if lanisoh packaged a lip balm you can sure they would be charging twice as much!

sethstarkaddersmum · 10/12/2010 10:27

yes, the nipple cream is not cheap - mine cost around a tenner when ds1 was born 4 years ago, hence my using it on lips rather than chucking it. It stays on better than normal lip balm IME.
