I've got some, but they have flat heels and are suede. I look more Principal Boy in Panto than hooker Grin

carriedafirework · 03/12/2010 11:57

lol Grin

yes i would go for flat/flatish

although maybe leather as i dont want really wet feet.

I think if you have long legs you could probably get away with it. I saw a shortish lady with chunky legs wearing some recently and they made her look awful. She probably though that they would elongate her legs, which they definitely didn't!

Know what you mean about the Pretty Woman look!!
Xmas Smile

I always get complimented on mine... but as Gogo says, long legs are a requirement (36in here)

MrsGuyOfChristmasBorn · 03/12/2010 18:54

I get complimented on mine, and like them cos they keep my knees warm Xmas Grin, but a few years back the team I work in had to a skit for the Xmas party and we chose to do Borat. I had the part of the sister who was the 'second best prostiture in Kazahkstan' and my colleague said innocently Xmas Hmm, 'Ooh, Mrs G, those boots you've got would be prefect for the part' (and they were Xmas Grin)

woolymindy · 03/12/2010 18:57

The whore look was exactly what I was going for.......

MitchyInge · 03/12/2010 18:57

I think of mine as my prostitute boots, am so jealous of my friend's superior purple ones (Office) will probably never wear them again anyway :(

onimolap · 03/12/2010 18:58

Unless you want to look like a panto character, then I think hooker-ish is inevitable. You just have to make sure it's top-end, lucky if I even consider you, and you'd better be able to afford me type if hooker (not knee trembler on the fire escape).

Hassledge · 03/12/2010 19:00

Yes, I think of them more Pantomime than Hooker. It's hard to get past the whole Dick Whittington vibe.

hobbgoblin · 03/12/2010 19:05

I think they are a little whoreish. I have some from River Island with a slightly chunky but very high heel. I am short (5'2") but have long legs to my frame so it doesn't look too dire I hope. I checked and checked and checked myself in the mirror and asked others. Nobody said don't do it.

Mine are very tight. Thsoe ones with the big flappy top bits are like wot you see in porn mags, so I didn't get that type. I also figured that if legs were slim enough to get into skin tight boots then I was probably not going to look like a big fat mo ho.

Wore (opaque) tights with them of course and very small dress that was actually a top (see height above) so that the boots became sort of part of the outfit iyswim - kind of like as if they were leggings. Do not ever wear animal print with though. Unless you are Kate Moss.

twoboots · 03/12/2010 19:16

two things: dress like a prosie and you will look like one!
so style with something really classical/unprostitute like.
also over the knee are bit less hookerish than thigh high.
follow this advice and at the very worse you could be mistaken as a high call call girl in panto

twoboots · 03/12/2010 19:17

sorry high class call girl
Wink

teta · 03/12/2010 20:24

i have a pair of Duo over-the-knee 'truffle' colour boots with a 1 inch heel that don't look remotely 'hookerish'.Yes,i am 5ft 3 inches and they are flattering-honestly.Don't listen to all the prejudicial comments on this thread[but i wouldn't wear very high otk].

HollyBollyBooBoo · 03/12/2010 20:49

Just asked DH and his 2 bezzie mates for you, a resounding 'Oh yes, totally whoreish!'

They've been drinking, I won't repeat the rest. Soz.
