Maybe not posting in the right place but I'm sure you S & B ladies can help... Thinking of getting my mum a magazine subscription for Christmas but I don't live in the UK & haven't a clue which magazines are any good. Could anyone suggest a decent mag for a sixty-something with a bit of fashion / beauty, good recipes & maybe some homes & garden-type articles?

Thanks so much!

Good Housekeeping has a good mix

Good Housekeeping or Woman and Home. They are not as 1950's housewife as they soundSmile

In fact I'd be happy with either and I am in my thirties. Actually I used to subscribe to Good Housekeeping, when I was a twentysomething Blush

Good Housekeeping - my mum got me a sub when I went to uni - at first I only read the recipes (& even that was good value). Now I do the kids stuff, consumer news, recipes & occassionally the fashion. Well worth the cash & appeals to most people over about 25 (& younger if they cook). I pass mine on to a friend, it then goes to another a friend & THEN to her doctor's surgery so worth the read.

I also love 'History Today' but that's a more specialist interest Blush

Another vote for Woman and Home - I am in late 30s and buy it myself from time to time. Appeals across a wide age group I would suggest.

Thank you everyone! :)

Woman and Home probably good for your Mum. I love getting a magazine subscription. Think it is a good gift.
