What's the sizing like on Merrell boots?

I'm generally a 4. They're not on the small side are they? Or should I get a 5 to go over thick socks for snowy warmth?

(memo to self: buy thick socks)

yes go up a size, I am a 6 and should have sized up to a 7 (mine are hiking shoes though).

I have gone up a size too, have tights and thick socks on and they are perfect. Not dull by the way but essential!
