How to stop suede boots from honking?

I have some of these boots here. I have had them a few weeks now and they are very comfy/warm etc but they shagging honk.

Do you get this issue with proper sheepskin? I really want these but can't really justify the cost atm.

Obviously being suede I can't bung them in the wash, would odour eater spray work? They did get soaked once due to me rushing to hospital in them in a downpour which could have added to the stink factor.

Do you wear socks Kitty? I have had some for a year that smell quite bad now but I'm wondering if it's because I just throw them on for the school run without putting socks on. Sounds a bit rank, sorry. I'm going to get some new ones soon.

Put them in a carrier bag. Put them in the freezer overnight.

And of course they're going to honk if you don't wear socks! Jeez.

Mine are sheepskin - and no it didn't occur to me namey - I have a bath every morning and wear slippers round the house. But now I know so my new ones will smell much better.
