I'm looking for a handmade silver pendant or necklace for my DD's 21st. She's a small built delicate featured girl, has simple tastes, likes walking in the country, is a musician. So wouldn't want anything really out there or OTT.

I've been trawling the internet and come up with the following, can I have opinions please? - I don't mind if you think they are all awful, or a 21 year old wouldn't be caught dead wearing them. These are the things I need to know. Oh and any alternative suggestions gratefully received TIA Smile

too ordinary?

simple but nice

pretty, I think

think this is my favourite

chunkier

a bit woo?

simple but nice the pendant - that is the one I like

my dd1 was 18 in the summer and with money she had been given she went and purchased a silver bangle about 2" wide that wasn't a complet circle aorund her wrist, very simple design that will last as not a "fashion" item. The silver was beaten not smooth

along the lines of the hammered open bangle

here

not sure if bangles are the thing or not with the youngsters?

I have this which I love. I saw the designer's shop in the Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham and regretted not making a purchase so I bought online a few weeks later instead.

Thank you for all the suggestions - it's been a great help having others opinions, and some great sites to browse through. (Quite a few things I fancy having myselfGrin).
She has very simple tastes and is not one for designer stuff, - she's more into odd little shops with unusual stuff. She does like bangles too, but like you ivykate, I got her one for her 18th, so think I'll go for a necklace this time.

This gorgeous silver/pearl cockle shell necklace is my default xmas/birthday present for god-daughters - always goes down a treat! They're really pretty and wearable, and all slightly different. She does other shells too, and bracelets, etc.

  • a bit different and ethical too (in a lovely way). I lurk on the site and ponder what I would choose if I had the chance....

wakesandquakes - I love that site, I have shown DH the fork bangles, and the penny pendants and dropped enormous hints for my own birthday in Dec. Smile
