Yes. I think brown boots go with far more things than black boots do.

Yes.

I have a velvet day dress from Kew in the same shade and it looks far better with my brown boots than black. That plum shade also looks gorge with pearl grey shades too :)

Thanks. I bought them wanting to be adventurous - I ALWAYS go for black! - but am losing my nerve slightly. How about this? It feels lovely together ...

wanttomove - are you the lovely lass who was after a dress for country house do last weekend? If so, how did you get on with Mango dress?

I love that red dress. With heels you could rock a total MadMen Christina Hendricks look. With boots and a long sleeve tee it works for day.

Buy it :o

Oh and the Kew plum shade looks fab with chocolate brown and teal too :)

Hi tulpe. I was the lady asking for advice for a works Christmas 'do' but did buy the Mango dress :) ... and I have already bought this! Wasn't sure if the colour went with the boots. I need to learn to 'embrace' colour Grin

So glad you loved the Mango dress. I loved it too but felt I needed to have either olive skin or gorgeously womanly curves (I have neither) to make the most of it.

If you are used to a life on black or jeans then embracing colour can feel like walking out naked! I made the same leap 3 years ago. I havent looked back since. It means that on the days you really can't be bothered you will still look like you have made an effort because even your basics will look better than default black/White/grey.

Navy is a great colour to try to break away from black. Neutral enough to work with lots of other colours but vibrant enough to add luminosity to the skin and just looks more expensive than black.

Oh and you are so going to rock the Mad Men look in that red dress with your gorgeous curves :)
