Merrell boots - buy now or wait for sales?

I am going to get some of these for the winter. I am just wondering if people think they will be a lot cheaper after Christmas or if they are one of those products that don't really get discounted. I want to buy them NOW!! As I have no patience and my feet are cold but saving lots of cash might just make me contain myself until after Christmas.

Which boots are you after?

Some good Merrell discounts here though they don't have the middle ones I don't think. Free delivery and returns. If you use quidco you can get cashback too.

I actually ordered the tempest in brown from here last week but have sent them back as I found them a bit clumpy. Partly I think because I am a half size so had to order up. Returned for the puffin frost in grey which I'm hoping should be here tomorrow. Will report back then.

I have found them a good company to deal with so far. Fast, efficient and friendly with a no-quibble return. HTH Smile

Let me know what they are like. I don't want too clumpy but I do need practical as I am in Scotland and the weather is rubbish.

That's a good website! I had my eye on those red fly london boots too but wasn't sure how warm they would be. They are a good price on there though.

Will do. Smile

I have last season's fly boots in black (another MN made me do it purchase!). Thet are warm enough I guess but not waterproof. Probably not good for snowy Scotland. Smile
They look good in red though!

I got these for xmas last year, just before the snow, and they were excellent. Very waterproof, pretty grippy (apart from on the real sheet ice that folowed the snow) and the snow just rolled off them without staining or anything.

Chocolatestar, if you are in Scotland you will need them now surely? Have you seen the weather? I am in the NE, and we have a fair bit of snow lying. I think it is a false economy to wait until they might come down in price in the sale (when they might not have the size/colour/style you want). If you really need winter boots in Scotland you probably need them from now until March, so price per wear will probably be pennies, and you should get two years at least out of them?

FiveOrangePips · 26/11/2010 21:31

fin the tibet boots look good, do they come in other colours? That is a good price for merrell boots, but I fear I wouldn't manage to keep them looking so pristine!

FiveOrangePips · 26/11/2010 21:33

Oh and the Fly London Mols are a dry weekend on pavements only boot, not wintery wet walks in Scotland (I have the brown rugged Mols £40) they are lovely boots, but my feet get wet if I walk through damp grass.

i've got oslos - got them last year - love, love, love them.

IME they will not reduce after christmas, but will reduce in spring.. but they're VERY warm and can't be worn in spring, winter only. so if you want them for the winter i'd say get them now.

I haven't seen those exact boots in other colours, but tbh I've just got mine out of the wardrobe, in view of the expected cold weather and they still look good ater going through one snowy winter. I think the rubber going around the boots protects them from the worst of the damage. As I said, the snow just seemed to roll off them and in the snow the ground is hard so they didn't get mud on them.
I have, however found these on ebay at a pretty good price.

I ordered the White ones to try. I liked the buttons. I want them here now! Weather is crazy!
