Party party party

I want to look fab-u-lous at my work Chrimbo party.

Since the last one I went to (when I looked like a complete frump) I've had a baby and lost 4.5 stone. I'm happy with my body for the first time in AGES but am planning to have another bambino next year and I fear that this may be my last chance to look great.

It's a big do, held in a hotel. The boys tend to go black tie and the girls mainly in cocktail rather than floor length dresses.

I'm 33, 5ft 2, hourglass size 10 but with 32F boobs, decent legs and a mum-tum (but Spanx will be deployed). Olive-y skin with mid-brown hair in a bob. I don't really know much about colour except that navy suits me much better than black.

I tend to dress fairly classically but don't want to look frumpy and would prefer to err on the side of cool.

Ideally (and here come the difficult pernickety bits) I'd like the dress to be wearable on Christmas day too - so sparkles galore would be fine but strapless a bit OTT.

Budget £300. Please help!

Sequins I hear you say...

Vintage Deco style from Coggles at £295.00.

Shoulder covering black and blue dress from Hobbs at just £150.00.

This is so pretty and just £170.00 at French Connection. BTW, FC is sequintastic at the mo. Have you had a look at the website/instore yet?

Thanks Amanda. I like the FC one the best so will try it on next time I'm out.

Have been gathering ideas and will put them to a vote in a new thread...
