Fake Ugg boots...how stupid am i?

So, I found a great deal on the web to buy my 2DSD's Ugg boots for Christmas - on offer £79.99 a pair on sale from £130 for short classic boots.

The boots have arrived and are clearly faked - not least because the Export Certificate enclosed (they have been shipped from China) says the package holds a $14USD dress!!

Bloody furious had to open a dispute with my credit card company and that is probably going to take forever to sort out.

the website was www.genuineugguk.com apparently Ugg Australia don't let their retailers have Ugg in their name...but I only know that now!

So anyone else looking for Uggs this Christmas be aware!

my general rule is if something seems to good to be true it normally is.....hope you get your money back.

My frined fell for the same scam site.
As other posters have said with Uggs they only sell through certain distributors thus the price remains high.
Hope you get this resolved but in my friends case the site has already 'disappeared'

If your friend paid with a credit card then S75 holds the credit card equally liable - so she should be able to get her money back.

Genuine Uggs are actually made in China though. Bit of a red herring, that one.

It's so difficult to tell some fakes but they've just improved the packaging a bit, with holograms and whatnot, so that may help.

if its cheap it is a fake, end of.

Have you informed ebay of the fake goods? There must be many others who've got caught out.

You'd think they'd monitor the listings more carefully

I don't think ebay care much about fakes, they get the commission on the sales so it's not in their interest to stop it. I've reported a few sellers but they just close down and open up under a new username.

ljsmith is a great seller of genuine Uggs on ebay though, if anyone wants any. They're sent from America so work out a bit cheaper than UK prices even with shipping. Have had two pairs now which have both been fine. I don't think I'd risk anyone else after having a couple of fake pairs.

And before anyone wonders, I'm not connected to ljsmith or on any kind of commission!!

Ugg makes great boots. Uggs boots are meant to be worn without socks (if you read the UGG web site), however they can be worn with thick socks, tights, or just bare feet and they're always comfortable. They're incredibly warm and adding the water proofing to the exterior a few times makes them fantastic shoes - and I have perpetually cold feet.
