best moisturiser for dry skin

My friend has breast cancer Sad. She says the chemo is making her skin very dry so I wanted to buy her some lovely moisturiser. I have greasy skin so unsure which is best.

I can't afford creme de la mer but I am happy to splash out a bit and I don't want to get her Olay or anything too generic, something a bit more bespoke and glam. Thanks for suggestions.

Sorry to hear about your friend mrsshackleton Sad

I've just been through the same thing and went to a wondeful session called Look Good Feel Better, where they help you with your make up through chemo (lost eyelashes/eyebrows etc)

They also give you a fabulous goody bag stuffed full of lovely products. I got some Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturiser which was absolutely lovely. I've never used it before and was converted. Chemo does dry out your skin, mine is usually comination, but my skin has never looked better since using this.

Really hope everything goes well for your friend x

Sorry about your friend, hope she recovers soon.

I have Clarins Gentle Day Cream - it's for sensitive skin and it's very rich and comforting, I think it's around 30 quid.

Hi there, sorry to hear about your friend,

Would second the Clinique mentioned by Wubbley, started using it a year ago and skin on face is lovely ( if I do say so myself).

Not too glamerous but a good all over body moisturier I have found is Aveeno Cream, or there is a good oatmeal based product from Lush (sorry can't remember but sure they could help in store)

I think Clinique might be doing a gift promo at the moment too, I've found these details on their website.

Pleased I spotted the question mrss, since I'm due to replace my bottle, now I'm justified in buying something lovely to go with it and get a freebie Grin

Thanks everyone, the Clinique sounds perfect Grin

Clarins do a really nice moistuiser for really dry skin.

I'm sorry to hear about your friend. Just thought I'd add that for future reference, a few drops of almond oil added to your regular moisturiser works beautifully for dry skin - as s night cream.

TigerseyeMum · 25/11/2010 22:34

Dr Organic Rose Otto Facial Serum is beautiful. It can be used under or over normal moisturiser too.

Ooh, am spoilt for choice now - am going to hunt all you've mentioned down and will buy whichever I come across first Smile

sorry about your friend, hope the treatment works for her.
I have very dry skin and eczema and weleda skin food works very well for me. it's not very expensive, smells nice.

mrsshackleton, here's a link to that Look Good Feel Better group I mentioned earlier. I'm sure they hold workshops through the country, there might be one near to your friend?

Just thought I'd mention it just incase your friend hasn't been told.

They are wonderful sessions, it's lovely to be pampered a little. Smile
