Gloves / mittens for 11 m.o.?

Which would be better - gloves or mittens? Is there any chance of them staying on my DS?

Any recommendations?

I expect he has big hands, as he's 98th/99th centile for weight & length. :)

mittens on string? I reckon gloes will be too fiddly to try and get all his finhers in - and too stressful in a rush maybe?

My 11month old DS has some mittens on a string. They are HELL to get on but they do stay on

The JoJoMaman fleece mittens are very good.
