COAST satin corset dress, has anyone successfully dyed one?

I have a Christmas night out in a couple of weeks and am a bit about what to wear, having just emerged from new baby comfiness (said baby is 11 months old ).

I have a eight year old pale blue COAST knee length corest dress which looks fine around non existent bust/waist but feel the pale blue is very - ahem - unforgiving on my bum.

Have trawled for simple black dresses like it but no-one seems to be doing them this year.

Has anyone dyed a COAST dress?

Alternative is I invest in some spanx for bum and sit in dark corner until drunk.

I wouldn't risk it. The fabric itself may dye okay but the stitching may not.

Have looked on ebay? There is usually a wealth of black Coast numbers on there.
