like this

It needs to be decent quality so that it doesn't discolour/spoil as I am sick of costume jewellery that goes weird within a couple of months but the price of this one seems a little excessive for what it is.

Anyone have any top tips for decent "real" jewelery that doesn't cost the earth?

oooh that looks lovely!

have you been to a local jeweller and asked them to quote to make something up in silver?

It is isn't it - it's just it seems an awful lot for what it is and I guess you are paying for the label.

I did think about a local jewellers but they are all a bit designer-ish where I am.

My friend makes jewellry and has just started making sterling silver items similar to the ones in your link. Maybe you could try an independent jeweller?
