Where did you get that hat?

I need a hat. It's going to be cold.

I don't like the floppy knitted ones which teenagers wear. I'm not a teenager.

What sort of hats do you all wear?

I quite like the cloche style ones but don't want to look like an old lady.

Am I doomed if I wear this one?

I have last year's version of this in pale grey.

I don't really suit hats but needs must when its cold.

I think hair is the key to a beret like that.

You need long hair to wear those floppy berets.

And I look like a right nob in a beenie.

I've got 3 knitted slouchy berets. On from Boden, on from Sainsbury's and one from, I think Monsoon, but It could have been Accessorize.

I've also got two baker boy caps from White Stuff, plus a brown velvet cloche I bought in France.

Oh, and a hand knitted beanie. It was a gift from Canada.

Oh yes, two of those alpaca knitted hats from the Andes, which were actually bought in the Andes. Those may not be the hight of chic, but my god they're warm.

I have a stripey beanie I bought in a ski shop in the US. It is very cosy - fleece lined - and great with jeans etc on Mummy days.

I also have a purple felty wool baker boy hat from Primark that I got for £1 about 3 years ago, which I wear for smarter occassions. Loads of that syle around the high street now.

I've got a black knitted baker boy hat that I wear most days and a couple of coloured bobble hats for when its snowy/frosty that I wear with my white ski type jacket.

I have a black knitted baker-boy thing I bought from Accessorize a couple of years ago, which comes out when it's really cold, but I always feel a right idiot wearing it (don't have "hat hair").

I look utterly stupid in hats, but i love them. I wish I could find one to suit me. I have a big head, and big hair, they are ususally too tight and give me a headache.....

I wore my purple felt cloche to a posh church service this morning (smells and bells) and got loads of compliments. Men love women in hats too. Don't know why but it is true. I bought it from a local indepandent hat shop last winter. Went in today to purchase DH some gloves and the chap serving said that last year cloche hats were just coming in and this year they are everywhere - obviously I was a-head of the trend (geddit?)

I hate having cold ears so in the interests of not being remotely stylish but surviving walking DD to school, I got the M&S pure cashmere gathered beret in light grey that traceybath mentions above and this trapper hat from Lewis'. Would love a cloche, too - tried one on recently but it was £££ so put it back. What's not to love about Agatha Christie?

black cloche with a tiny bow in store for about £12. I love mine.

actually here's a question for you ladies - a good few years ago i got a lovely leopard print fedora-style hat from an independent hat shop - should I dig it out for this winter?
