Fit flops

bellavita · 21/11/2010 09:09

I never ever wore trainers in Florida. Just nice sandals like toe post ones. The Fit Flops are a good idea like miche8 suggests.

fitflopqueen · 21/11/2010 09:35

fitflops here too.

AnnoyingOrange · 21/11/2010 09:39

I usually wear trainers - comfortable, supportive and protective

I sometimes wear sandals (sporty ones with thick soles)

AnnoyingOrange · 21/11/2010 09:40

I worry about flip flops falling off on some of the rides

JaniceSoprano · 21/11/2010 09:55

They won't rub will they ?

bellavita · 21/11/2010 10:26

Nope they won't rub. A lot of the rides - people take their shoes off and leave them at the side and you just get them when you get back off - I have done this several times.

I am going at Xmas and I will wear Birkenstocks BUT I am not stylish.

JaniceSoprano · 21/11/2010 11:52

I can't walk 4 miles a day in birken

I spent 2 weeks in my fit flops. It was too warm for me to wear trainers and I had taken a few pairs of sandals with thin soles which were useless, to ground was too hot.

Fit flops fitted the bill perfectly, comfortable with thick soles to protect the soles of my feet.

Don't just take fitflops or birkenstocks - we went over new year last year and it was absolutely freezing. Sunny, but freezing. We needed shoes you could wear socks with and jackets and jumpers the whole time. I know it's not usually like that, but they could just as easily have unusually cold weather again. Wrong section, but the best tip I was given was to get the Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World. It has really anal, bossy touring plans for each park - but they work. We rarely 'waited in line' even though we were there on the busiest days of the year. They have a website too, where you can customize the plans to suit your group and print them out with coded maps.

MaeMobley · 21/11/2010 16:23

Lizzywishes, thanks for the additional tips. Is there another unofficial guide which tells you which days are best for other parks?

cybbo · 21/11/2010 16:32

ENOUGH WITH THE FIT FLOPS

they are the fuggliest of the fug

dont; care if they are as comfy as a feather bed.

I wont let you buy them

oliviafrombolivia · 21/11/2010 17:31

just don't do what I did - I wore Havaiaanas or Birkenstock's/gladiators and gave myself plantar fasciitis in the process. At the risk of sounding like your mum, for lots and lots of walking you really need something with support..

brimfull · 21/11/2010 17:51

fuck style -don't listen to cyb

get some fitflops they are bliss for walking for hrs on end

i have shit feet and they saved me this summer.

pain looks very ugly in the face

by them early and wear them in , mine rubbed on the toes which is apparently unusual and because i have high instep.

go on go on go on

no one in FL is remotely interested in style anyway

MaeMobley · 21/11/2010 18:40

Agree re Florida and style, ggirl.

Off to google plantar fasciitis but I find my Birkenstaocks are my most confortable shoes.

Agree with Lizzywishes that weather may be rubbish.

Lizzywishes · 21/11/2010 20:39

Mae, I'm sure that the Disney Unofficial Guide also had plans for Universal Studios (and Harry Potter). The weather wasn't rubbish - it was clear blue skies and sunshine, just really cold.

lovingthesun · 21/11/2010 22:35

Fitflops supporter here too. I only do gentle rides, so no chance of falling off me !

Watch out for odd tans lines though Smile

Rannaldini · 21/11/2010 22:53

wot about these?

Rannaldini · 21/11/2010 22:57

kinda fugly but effective

MaeMobley · 22/11/2010 21:23

Thanks Lizzywishes. I have been at Xmas with perfect weather and another year with rubbish weather (ie torrential rain every single day for two whole weeks).
