First time I got a VIP pass Haven't bought any autumn/winter clothes yet plus its my birthday next week so can feel a spree coming on

Toothache · 21/09/2005 13:42

OMG! And I've got some money to spend too!

MrsSpoon · 21/09/2005 13:43

Oooh, I got one too. The mid season sale though, is that not when they dredge up all the stuff that hasn't sold over the last few sales?

Nemo1977 · 21/09/2005 13:43

arghhhhhh noooooooooooooooo i just bought a load from next that was delivered yesterday..sigh

Toothache · 21/09/2005 13:44

Can someone post a link????? I can't see anything about it on the website!!!!

When does it start in store?

monstersmummy · 21/09/2005 13:44

return it and get it at weekend nemo!

Toothache · 21/09/2005 13:47

Help???

MrsSpoon · 21/09/2005 13:47

Toothache, click the link on the mail they send you and you have to book your slot when you want to view the sale.

I'm a bit of a cynic when it comes to these sorts of things but it's probably not anything to get excited about and probably just about anyone who has used the Next Directory on-line in the last year will have received one of the mails.

Nemo1977 · 21/09/2005 13:47

wish i could MM but it is now in ds bedroom [shelf and a car lamp] and also he is wearing one of the outfits today...so no point in returning the other 2.

Toothache · 21/09/2005 13:48

But MrsSpoon - I don't get sent emails from Next!!!

Fimbo · 21/09/2005 13:49

I haven't received anything and I ordered from them last year..........

monstersmummy · 21/09/2005 13:50

i ordered recently and have had no mail

MrsSpoon · 21/09/2005 13:51

Ah, well then you're not a VIP like the rest of us! [sticking tongue out emoticon]

According to the mail I got the main sale starts on Saturday 24th, presumably on-line and in store.

Nemo, you'll probably find that it's not current stock they are reducing, certainly whenever I've looked at their mid-season sale it's never been current stuff.

MrsSpoon · 21/09/2005 13:52

MM and Fimbo, you have hit that cynical theory on the head, maybe it's because I owe them nearly £200 and they want to plunge me deeper into debt?

Nemo1977 · 21/09/2005 13:53

mmm i havent had a mail either and I have an account with them and usually order quite often.

Fimbo · 21/09/2005 13:57

Yes, I think it depends on how much you actually spend - I usually only buy kids clothes and spend a few pounds here and there. I used to practically live in Next in the 80's but think it has gone down hill a bit in recent years, its not as exclusive as it used to be, I practically have to push my dh through the doors!!

MrsSpoon · 21/09/2005 14:10

That figures Fimbo, just about all my clothes and both DSs clothes are ordered from my Next Directory at the moment. The shopping in this town isn't great, never seem to have the time or the energy to go elsewhere so turn to the Directory whenever I need something.

Fimbo · 21/09/2005 14:15

Yes, its no fun when you live somewhere without decent shops We have got a new all singing and dancing shopping centre opening today - here - but First Buses decided to go on strike for a week so I can't get there until the weekend!!

MrsSpoon · 21/09/2005 14:18

That looks fantastic Fimbo, would probably throw the Directory out if we had something like that here. They are always talking about it and putting plans in the local paper, bumming about what they are going to do then a few weeks later all the big names pull out and they change their minds, grrrr. Maybe one day they'll get their act together.

Fimbo · 21/09/2005 14:21

Yes does look good, they are supposed to be handed out freebies all day - so have sent dh to get some!! You would think they would have some A list Celeb to open it (or me even) but no, its Nell McAndrew!! Where are you Mrs Spoon?

Fimbo · 21/09/2005 14:22

*handed = handing

MrsSpoon · 21/09/2005 14:26

I am in Scotland, don't really want to say exactly where as I am a long term Mumsnetter who has had a recent name change for anonimity so don't want to go blowing my cover again. However I'm in a decent enough sized town to have a bit more in the way of shops (we have a few so not totally bereft but it could be vastly improved), there is a site in the town that has been on the cards for development into a shopping centre for ages, big department store planned for it and there was recent talk of expanding the existing shopping centre but this all seems to have been abandoned again. A shame really because they keep flinging up houses round here like there is no tomorrow so can only assume that these people that have moved into the are must be spending their money elsewhere.

MrsSpoon · 21/09/2005 14:27

Make sure your DH get's some of those freebies but doesn't get too close to Nell McAndrew!

Fimbo · 21/09/2005 14:27

I may well live in Norwich but....................

I'm Dundonian!!
