Which hair product?

My DS has recently had lots of layers put in her hair and we are having trouble keeping it all in a ponytail for school. Is there any product that you can put in the hair to keep it sleek and to stop all bits coming out? at moment putting hairspray on it. Should also add that we dont really want it to look wet.

could you use some clips as well as pony tail band... other than that hairspray is best bet

Kirby grips + mousse whilst it's wet?

Paul Mitchell gloss drops (only use a tiny amount on palms of hands rubbed gently over the hair)

or a leave-in conditioner?

Hairdresser last night told me to put a little bit of conditioner on the fluffy bits of my hair to make them lie flat.

oops, meant to say DD, my son wont appreciate me calling him a her! thanks for your replies, i will try and get some grips tomorrow. This has put daughter off having layers in her hair again, they are a nightmare when they are too short!
