I just took my glasses off at the mirror in our hall which has an old fashioned bright bulb in and and for the first time, I noticed how many lines I have around my eyes! I always wear glasses and have never noticed but jesus! I have loads! And the skin around my eyes just looks dull and craggy. I had no bloody idea!

First things first, I m putting an energy saving bulb in the hall so I am no longer confronted by thi sight at that mirror, but what else can I do?

Please tell me there is a decent cream/eye gel out there that kind of works (am not expecting miracles, just a bit of an improvement) and doesn't cost the earth?

I feel your pain, after three years of wearing knackered old glasses I treated myself to new contact lenses. Can now see all the crows feet and grey hairs and chin hair that have snuck in and I have been blindly oblivious of. Its like when you buy your dream home and then lift the carpet and realise it is going to be a lifes work just keeping up with the dry rot.

I use Boots Protect & Perfect or Olay Regenerist eye serum. Both brilliant (and Boots always dole out those £5 off vouchers).

Also, if you know an Avon lady, their eye stuff is very good and not too pricy.

Cake is cheaper, of course.

So is olay or protect and perfect better?

That's about my budget

They are probably as good as each other - marginal preference here for the Olay. Feels really nice on the skin.

I've been using The Body Shop's Natrulift day cream, that seems pretty good: I haven't tried
the eye cream in the range yet but I probably will as I've been using the day cream for about 2 weeks and my skin feels pretty good.
Do make sure you moisturise at night too, I think that's helping me, I never used to bother but it's really been making a difference.
Know where your're coming from with the specs thing, BTW - I got contacts back in the summer for the first time in about 10 years - it wasn't a pretty sight, I can tell you!
Come to think of it, I may have had them in when the lady in The Body Shop recommended that I try the Natrulift cream... hmmm...!
