Desert boots: quirky/cool, classic or frumpy?

Hello there

I'm on the hunt for winter shoes to be worn with trousers. Converse-style trainers aren't warm enough, but calf- or knee-high boots look weirdly hoof-like.

Partly inspired by a market stall near me that sells them cheaply, are Clarks desert boots an option? They've got that bit of lacing detail visible to prevent the hoof effect, but are sturdy enough to be warm.

Have I lost my mind?

I'm not sure. Do you have a link?

I'll be watching your thread though cos I'm not sure what shoes to wear every day either. I'm currently in my running shoes but I don't like the 'default to trainers' look and you are right long boots underneath do look odd but I've been doing that one too.

Lol! I'm no help but I am supportive of the problemGrin

Here's a link! They come in all sorts of colours and patterns...

Hmmm, I'm not too keen on desert boots myself, but how about some worker boots - they're fashionable right now.

Oooh, I'd love desert boots... Def quirky cool and elegant

I must admit I don't overly love the desert boots but nor do I detest them either. Isn't the current phrase a bit 'meh'. (There's a phrase I thought I'd never use!)

If you have seen them as a bargain, then ok, but I wouldn't pay £75.

I'd also get black if possible. Def no to the patterened and pale ones!

Sdixie I do like worker boots, but reckon they'll be totally over by March, meaning money down the drain. Desert boots are not fashionable, therefore won't date, is my thinking.

Then again, I thought biker boots were a flash in the pan, and they've kept going for years.
