All I want for Christmas is....... to look fab!

I know that there are plenty of threads doing the rounds at the moment with Christmas party dresses, but the problem is I just don't know what suits me! If my friends heard me saying this they would laugh, as I am perceived as the most stylish of all of them, but my problem is that I am only ever dressing for work or smart/casual. However, I need a dress for s Christmas party and have no idea where to start! I'm not usually an overly casual person, so the more 'party-like' and glam the better!

I am 5ft 6, and very pear shaped. However, I am about 2 stone heavier than before I had DD (3 years ago!) and now have a tummy which I never had before. I am a 12/14, though closer to a 14, and have dark brown hair. I am very small in the bust, but have good legs, hence the desire for a nice dress. Am hoping that the work I am currently putting in at the gym will give me back the toned arms I once had.

Budget is probably only about £60, as it's just one night and don't think I could justify any more than that, as it'll probably never be worn again.

Can anyone give me a few ideas as to what might suit me???

This is the third time I've recommended this dress but I think it's lovely and would work well with your shape. I would wear with black opaques and high black patent shoes...

tether, have you got this dress, what sort of quality is the fabric?

littledolly · 15/11/2010 08:35

Tether, I like that dress, but am just not sure that pastels suit me. There is a good Peacocks near me, so I might try and pop in this week, as there are a few nice things on their website at the moment.

Anyone else got any ideas??

id be wary of pastels in winter
you might just look nude

littledolly · 15/11/2010 09:26

What do you think of this??

its ok
? a bit weddingy

what about a skir tand top?>

or trews say cigartette cut

No, I don't have that dress- am a redhead and I think it would suit someone with dark hair. Nice though.

Not keen on that one littledolly... agree with shamma that it looks a bit weddingy. Is that the sort of colour you're after?
