Can I get my bootcut jeans altered to be straight legs?

or will I ruin them?

They are far too long in the leg and too flarey - my friend gave them to me - so I don't mind experimenting as the cost nothing iykwim.

Yes you can!! MIL very kindly altered my bootcut maternity jeans from 5 years ago into skinny jeans for me...and they look fab apart from the fact that I have now put on too much weight and they won't go on at all lol!

you could make them cropped and wear with long socks and knee high boots or killer heels.

Was going to make them straight (not too skinnyas have big feet!) but not shortened and then turn them up and wear with boots.

Go for it! I alter stuff all the time.

Have you got a sewing machine?

conquita · 15/11/2010 04:33

I have been thinking of this too! I reckon it would be dead easy on a sewing machine to just take in the sides. Just follow the seam down from the thigh and make it straight where it starts to kick out . Give it a go!
