I really like them. With a reasonably long top / tunic thing, I think they're a great idea. It's too cold for just leggings.

twoboots · 13/11/2010 23:31

the alternative are really warm leggings. i have a few pairs which have a fleece lining so almost thermals.

BitOfFun · 13/11/2010 23:33

I love them on my skinny ten year-old. But on an adult? No.

mypombearisveryold · 13/11/2010 23:43

I bought a pair of what I thought were jeans...only to try them on and find that they are actually jeggings.

I like them and will wear them all the time, but maybe not to close to my 11 yo dd.

Blimey, where ARE you? Shock

Meggles76 · 14/11/2010 10:08

I think they are OK tucked in to boots with a long cardigan

Tidey · 14/11/2010 10:11

My 3yo has a couple of pairs and they look cute on her, I wouldn't be brave enough personally.

OracleInaCoracle · 14/11/2010 10:13

i love mine, agree that it alldepends on what you wear with them. tunics and long cardigans look fab

I love mine

TheNextMrsDepp · 14/11/2010 14:18

Wearing mine right now! They are just like well-fitting skinny jeans, really, and I have a huge problem with jeans gaping and the waist and falling down uuunless you wear a belt. Then you end up all lumpy. Jeggings just fit better.

I am wearing them with a long slim jumper and knee-length boots. I'm 5'7, 10-12 and an aged 43!

Unless you have a perfect rear and are seriously young, stick to longer-length tops.

TattyDevine · 14/11/2010 15:14

I think there are jeggings and there are jeggings. Some are made of flimsier material than others. I think a thicker more elastic material for those with a few lumps and bumps works well.

And, like leggings, they are not trousers in their own right. Tunics, long cardigans, anything from the top of the thigh down is better than showing your camel's hoof.

I dont think they are a no-no anymore than leggings are - but, like leggings, have a few conditions attached.

worldgonemad72 · 14/11/2010 21:31

thanks for all the replies, im definately going to buy some, long jumper at the ready.

They are great, I never thought i would wear them as dont have the best of legs.

GMajor7 · 14/11/2010 21:50

Too flabby for them myself at the moment, but they look utterly adorable on my 9 month old girl Smile

TheNextMrsDepp · 14/11/2010 23:04

Buy the "stretchy denim" type, rather than the thick lycra sort. More flattering imho.

RoobyMurray · 14/11/2010 23:08

I have never seen a woman wearing jeggings that looked good. Skinny jeans, yes.

Jeggings just look naff and cheap IMHO.

mypombearisveryold · 14/11/2010 23:11

Mine are like that, more like really stretchy denim. They are thicker than lycra.

My dh really likes them, and my best friend likes them, and I like them...

Asda £10.

Still not going to stand too close to my dd1 in them though.

Mum72 · 15/11/2010 08:38

I have denim ones. Made from very stretchy denim. I hate the nylon sweaty minge stylee ones you get.

I bought them in what was Q&S Blush now store 21, because I was a bit unsure whether I would like them. At £9 (with student discount) if they were naff and unsuitableI was not going to get upset about the cost.

Mine look much more like skinny jeans. They have no pockets at the front but have proper jeans stylee pockets on the bum. Mind you no one would know as I wear mine with longer tops, tunics and cardigans.

They are as warm as jeans but as stretchy as other the nylony ones.

I have 2 blue denim pairs and one black denim pair. I am a convert and live in them now.

Only thing I would say if you are getting them from the same place as me - try on several pairs in your size to get the fit you want as they all seem to vary.

Shammalamma · 15/11/2010 08:51

like them
but they do make oyu fat

biryani · 21/11/2010 20:37

I love them as they are so comfy and you don't get a muffin top as they come up high. Great with long tops/cardis etc tucked into boots. Wish I'd discovered them sooner.

expatinscotland · 21/11/2010 20:39

I am too fat for them (size 14).

But they look fab on my twiggy young daughters.

Ragwort · 21/11/2010 20:42

I hate them (and skinny jeans) - unless you are late teens/very early 20s and a size 8.

Also think they look awful on children.

I think they look cheap and nasty Grin.
