I'm 44, 5'9,12 stone, with a brown bob, (no hope really). I've never liked girly clothes and usually just wear jeans. tshirts and shirts. But I'll have to make an effort for the work do as we normally wear a uniform so this will be the first time they've seen me in civvy clothes, so to speak. I've tried looking in all the brand shops but can't find anything to suit. Does anyone have any useful ideas, am desperate and am really stressing about it.

Hello, having just discovered the 'unanswered messages' button at the top I have spotted your post! Firstly, don't stress! I would suggest you don't go too far outside your comfort zone, or you might just feel uncomfortable.

How do you feel about nice jeans and a sparkly ish top? I assume it's not a formal type do?

I am no S&B expert (far from it!) but have just bought these Awear jeans and a new look top a bit like this (they don't have the actual one on the website but it is similar - my actual one is nicer and was £21.99) to wear with silver chunky heels and a this little jacket in navy (again not on the site for some reason!)

Tis comfy, not revealing so might not be too much of a departure from your normal style, but looks glam enough for christmas dos I think (hope!).
