skinnies and pear shaped

Tell it to me straight - size 12 short arse pear, will skinnies hold it in or just look simply ridiculous?

Agree, skinnies just aren't right for some people, and that includes me, 8/10 and pear-shaped.

Re: parsnip, I just saw a feature of "carrot" shaped jeans. Cannot fathom who this is meant for, as even the models looked completely ridiculous in them.

I am a size 8-10 and a pear, and I do wear them, but only with long tight tops or a boyfriend cardi and some heeled ankle boots. I am 5'8" though, and really do think that's the only reason I can get away with them.

I think any types of jeans are tough to carry off for us pear shapes. Sigh

How do you know if you are a pear shape? I have very wide hips and thin legs, does that make me a pear?

I'm a pretty slim pear shape (8/10, 5'6") and skinnies just ain't for me. I can wear slim straight leg jeans (Topshop Martha) which look reasonably up to date but don't create the parsnip effect.

Im a pear and i cant do skinnies. I can just about get away with straight leg jeans though, with the right bum-covering top.

I am 5ft 8-10 pear shape and I do wear skinnies, I wear them with looser fitting tops to balance me out. Or with a fitted T-shirt and long cardigan. If I am wearing them for a night out, then always with super high heels. I also tend to size up so they are not super super tight which is more flattering - no muffin top

I am a pear and I can do skinnies but am tall and careful to keep top in right proportion. Not tunic, but hip-ish length.

I think it's fine as long as you wear chunky boots (to at least mid calf) to balance out arsage. Not ankle boots or shoes, even with heels, unless you are a slim and shapely pear.

I may be deluded though.
