tan leather jacket for work?

I need to look professional but also approachable. I am wondering about a leather jacket over work clothes in particular this. Would that look ok and cool/smart/chic or just sad? I am mid 40s and a HP. I have seen younger (more junior) colleagues wear co-ordinated tan leather in big bag/jacket or big bag/boots combo and rather liked it.

I have also wondered about a smart grey leather jacket as an option.

What would be more stylish/ on trend, or should I walk away from the leather?

Also, can I get better cheaper?

Personally, I think if I were going to go for tan leather-which I lobe, BTW!- I would go for a blazer style. I think that jacket looks a bit too casual. And I would say you can definately find cheaper!
