Anyone bought Topshop size 42 shoes?

I'm thinking of buying a pair online and am wondering how they fit. I'm an 8.5 - 9. I fit Next size 9 but my feet are too big for Clarks size 8.

TIA!

Hi speedy
I'd be grateful if you can tell me other shoes that fit, you sound the same size as me. I've found Evans can be good although often too wide. Clarks occasionally do a 9 which I've got in brantano.
Sorry I'm no help by the wsy

I find Topshop sizing quite small on footwear.

TrillianAstra · 11/11/2010 20:27

I find that a 42 is a 42 (I'm a 41 actually) and it's the 8 or 9 sizes that differ.

I believe that Next size 7 are a 41 (I can only have 'big 7' at 41 not 'small 7' at 40), so Next size 9 will be 43. So a 42 will probably be too small for you.

I assume you are ordering online, otherwise the answer would be 'just try it on'. If so, order enough stuff to get free delivery (over £100), then take back what you don't like/don't want. If you pay by credit card the money will be back on your card before you have to pay it off.

Hi,

I am a definite 42! Top Shop 42 is ok for the flatter trype of shoe, ballerina pump, brogue but heels seem to be more of an 8 (41) and are too tight on me!

Hope you get the shoes you want. Top Shop 42 is never available in the shops!

Good luck - I am always looking for a decent 42.

See I would argue that a 41 is a 7 not an 8!

38 is 5, 39 is 6, then things get fuzzy.

In mens shoes 41 is 7 and 42 is 8 and 43 is 9.

Some shops are very snooty about it, other accept that different places do it differently!

southeastastra · 11/11/2010 20:55

huh? 40 is 7 surely?

anyway topshop shoes come up tiny so order a size larger i reckon

TrillianAstra · 11/11/2010 20:59

Ah, SEA, you clearly have dainty lovely petite feet and do not face the daily challeneges that mansize feet bring :)

hackneyzoo · 11/11/2010 21:04

I am an 8.5 and Topshop 42 fits if they are flats. Agree with what DTI10 says.

SpeedyGonzalez · 12/11/2010 07:45

Thanks all!

Well, 41 used to be an 8...then some idiot decided to change it to 42. Except I still have some old shoes in a 41, which proves it to the snotty shop staff. I've been a size 8 for a few decades now so any shop assistant that argues with me about my OWN shoe size is going to get short shrift from me!

Sounds like TopShop ain't gonna cut it.

Bulby - yes, try Next, also Barratts have a range for large-footed ladies, though I haven't tried them. I've also heard that Evans now do a narrow-fitting shoe.

Topshop are teeny, even the flat shoes cant cater my clown feet. I have massive problems with narrow ankles and mahousive feet. I find next bad too :(

SpeedyGonzalez · 12/11/2010 17:24

Effy we sound like foot twins. Bloody annoying. I have bought 1/2 price from Ecco online - their 8-8.5 (that's one size, btw) is v comfy for me. I reckon if you try Danish and German brands they should have a decent large size as their nationals typically have slightly larger feet than Brits. Also they're more forward-thinking when it comes to comfort.

You have to be thorough with ecco, btw, as some of their styles are foul. But apparently they last for ages.

try new look as well they're 9 is a 42 and always fit me, next it varies on the style.
i've always had big feet, although went from a 7.5-8 to a 8-9 during my first pregnancy.
