I need help with 70's fancy dress ideas!

Going to a party next month and having difficulty finding something decent to wear. I am too old to wear the short dresses advertised on ebay so looking for ideas and inspiration for what to wear. Also ideas for make up and hair please - any links would be great as I can not seem to find much info on line.

Kaftan, Glittery eye make up, flowers painted on face, straightened hair with a small plait or two woven in...

Or look to Margot Leadbetter and go for a shirt dress or suit perhaps with a turban and clip on plastic earrings.

lots of eyeliner, blue eyeshadow and farrah fawcett flicks would also be good.
