Hideous outward bound teambuilding ordeal - what to wear?

Pinkjenny · 09/11/2010 16:50

Title says it all. We are clay pigeon shooting and quad biking.

The most aggressive footwear I own is trainers for the gym. Warmest coats are Reiss.

What can I get that won't break the bank bearing in mind it probably won't see the light of day again?

Help.

I'm going out in a sec, won't be able to check replies until later. Any suggestions gratefully received.

Just wanted to say poor thing. Could you be "ill" that day?!

Or possibly borrow something. Is is possible to hire stuff like this? (e-mail the centre/venue and ask them for suggestions on what to wear?)Do you have some hardy outdoor, camper type friends who could loan you suitable attire?

Pinkjenny · 09/11/2010 16:56

Not really an option to be ill, unless I am actually ill. I am awaiting dress recommendations from them this week.

You will probably need a warm, waterproof jacket and some walking boots. I'd try and borrow some if you won't be wearing them again.

Decathlon might be your best bet - cheapish non-branded. or, if you are a style guru, could you not splash out on a barbour? I hear they're all the rage in the city.(has to be said that I pmsl at the country-in-the-city look. having lived in both)

For horrendous things like that, I tend to wear my skiing jacket. At least it is waterproof, and nice, even if it looks odd in Hampshire! I hate outdoor teambuilding s*it! Last time I got away with not racing round the lake by quietly telling the external organising company that I might be pregnant. They never saw me again, so they'll never know...
