Perms?

I haven't had a perm since the late 80s when they were all fuzzy and bubbly and looked quite extreme! Grin

Well, I have grown my usually short hair into a longer style and it is now down to my shoulders.

It is kind of thinner than it used to be and it's just sitting limply at the moment, so I booked into the hairdressers for a..........perm! Confused

I explained to the hairdresser what I wanted and she said she could help me and to make an appointment to sort my hair out.

My question is, what kind of perms do they have these days and what could I ask for?

I want something to add a bit of body and perhaps some loose curls/waves, but nothing bubbly or grannyish.

I wear my hair up at work and just down or in a loose ponytail whilst at home.

Any ideas?

Get them to use large rollers. As far as I,m aware, perming technology has not altered in the last twenty years; so ask for the biggest rollers for a body wave, no tight curls

how did you get on?

I had my perm on Tuesday and didn't wash it for 48 hours like the girl said. It's kind of a cross between curly and wavy and it seems to be okay. I put curl boost onto it and that makes it a bit more curly. She only left the perm solution on for about 12 minutes instead of 20.

Everyone seems to think it looks nice and it's certainly better than my usual lank locks. I'll just have to see how long it lasts now.
