How would you style this dress?

I'm wearing it to an engagement party and would like to dress it up a bit or make it look a little unusual but still stylish (it's fairly plain) but no idea how.

i would wear really plain but funky beads and mad men up the make up and hair

or just a wee vintage brooch

I'll start for ten ... .

Large costume jewellery brooch on shoulder. Grey or black high-heeled courts, and concentrate on hair and make-up. Could go to a hairdresser and get an "up-do" if not capable of that myself.

However ... that might be too obviously "retro".

Am fascinated to hear what others will suggest.

Big cocktail ring, oblong clutch bag, maybe some kind of fur stole? It's very Jackie O, I love it.

Will have a look for a clutch and beads, and have a think about how I will do my hair. I'm not sure about how much of a makeup "look" I can carry off!
