mutton as lamb?

I just bought this today - and am already a bit worried that it's too young for me. I'm 36, size 16 about 5'9 and have bought it for Christmas night out - what do you think? Should it go back? It's the sparkliest thing I've ever bought!

If you do like it - then what shoes to wear? And what cardi/bolero??

I think it's nice. Go for completely opaque black tights and ballet flats if you want to tone down the overall effect.

Do you need a cardi/bolero?

not mutton as lamb at ALL

lovely dress

nude platforms? or black
or purple?

a pashmina/wrap rather than a cardi/bolero

you'll knock 'em dead

Gorgeous. I am 50 and would wear it!!

lal123 · 05/11/2010 11:38

I DO like those shoes - but I'm not great in heels - can do about 2 inches, anything more and I'm at risk of toppling.

Isn't a pashmina a bit of a hassle to keep on? (Might be wearing said dress to few pub occassions as well as official night out)

Black heels and opaques.

Not too young at all btw. I am sure you will look lovely.

traceybath · 05/11/2010 11:56

Definitely not too young - phase 8 is not a mutton shop.

Black opaques and shoe boots would be how I'd wear it.

Enjoy - it looks lovely!

Lovely dress and I am similar proportions and age (you are 1 year younger Envy) and I would wear it.

Agree with shoe boots and opaques.

vintage4 · 05/11/2010 12:17

you will look very glam and i think a size 16 would look much better in this dress than say a size 8. I would wear Black velvet stilletos or Black velvet ballet shoe

littledolly · 05/11/2010 13:06

Stunning - really glam! Another vote for opaques and shoe boots here.
