Nail hardener?

I have really soft, thin fingernails. This has been made worse by a recent spell of gel-nail wearing which I hav now given up.
Can anyone recommend a nail hardener that really works, I have tried several over the years but have never found one that works well.
Any other tips for strengthening nails would be most appreciated also,
Thanks

I use nail magic - it's the only thing I've found that works.. john lewis or amazon :)

I've used Opi Nail Envy in the past. Also rubbing the cuticles with oil and filing only in one direction.

I found nail envy useless.. got a bottle of it here I'm happy to post on if either of you want to use it up for me :)

I have the same problems as you, soft thin and I'm also prone to the top layer flaking off.

I have had great results with Jessica stuff. I use this. I was amazed at the difference, it really worked for me. Itseems to actually heal the nail rather than just coat it with strength.

I also use cuticle oil like bookcase recommends.

another vote for nail magic- its amazing. You apply once a week and in little time they start to grow and are actually harder and stronger.

Thanks so much everyone,
I'm going shopping tomorrow so I'll look out for them. I haven't tried any of the ones you've suggested so far!

The nailtiques after artificial kit is amazing. mine were like peeling paper after gels. you get a polish you use every day and some gel to rub on your cuticles. pricey but worth it: www.lookfantastic.com/nailcare/nailtiques/gifts-and-packs/nailtiques-after-artificial-treatment-kit.html

Sally Hansen is great, the claims are a bit Hmm but it really does work.
I use the one in the gold bottle but think there is an updated version available.

Nailtiques also good.

Second recommendation for Nailtiques. I used the number 2 formulation, amazing. After a couple of weeks I was having to cut my nails, they weren't breaking. I haven't used it in weeks and still going strong.

Look on ebay, much cheaper.

I naturally have soft nails that are also ridged. I now regularly use Nail Envy and Avoplex by Opi and they have made a huge difference. Would strongly recommend.
